Arran Heli-ToursA Scenic Helicopter Tour and Charter service based at the Balmichael Visitor Centre, Shiskine, on the Isle of Arran who specialise in flights over Ayrshires beautiful West Coast and short tours around the Isle of Arran.These tours vary from 10 minute tours up to a 35 minute full coastal circuit of the Island. The most popular tour being the 15 minute, which takes in about one-quarter of the islands scenery and has a choice of 3 varying routes. All the routes that we fly have been chosen to maximum human privacy and to minimise impact on sensitive wildlife concentrations. We are happy to take group bookings or to relocate for these bookings. For example we can base ourselves at a hotel or private site of your choice and fly passengers wherever they request. Arran Heli-Tours operate a Robinson R44 helicopter. The R44 is a four-seat machine (3 passengers) with a maximum take-off weight of 2400lbs, driven by a six-cylinder, horizontally opposed Lycoming piston engine. The cruising speed of the helicopter is around 125mph. The R44 can travel from Turnberry to Aberdeen or Liverpool in 1.5 hours with four people on board.
